As the city is surrounded by Gwanaksan Mountain, Cheongyesan Mountain, Umyeonsan Mountain and Yangjaecheon Stream, it is an ideal residential area and also home to a variety of animals and plants. Moreover, due to a massive residential maintenance project undertaken from the early 90's and some of the most comprehensive welfare services in the nation, the city has continuously been ranked as the most livable city in South Korea.
Various attractions named after Seoul including Seoul Grand Park, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul Land, and Let’s Run Park Seoul are actually located in Gwacheon City.
A total of 14 FullDome films from around the world was screened both online and offline, while the Astronomical Observatory was broadcast live via the official Gwacheon National Science Museum Youtube channel.
