It has been 16 years since the 2005 introduction of Gyeonggi Province's preceding logo. A new logo is now being introduced based on the need for a symbol of the current era, one that reflects sustainability and embodies the status as well as the identity of Gyeonggi Province.
1. Flag
The provincial flag is a visual symbol that officially represents the government identity (GI) of Gyeonggi Province. Therefore, it requires special care. Do not damage or sully the flag, and keep it clean at all times.
- When using figures, adjust the size according to the defined ratio used for the logo.
- The provincial flag may be reduced or enlarged as needed as long as the defined ratio is maintained.
- The finial and hoist for the provincial flag shall be produced according to the procedures stated in Article 7(4) to Article 7(6) of the Act on the Flag of the Republic of Korea.
However, the finial and hoist on outdoor flagpoles may be used when flying the provincial flag outdoors.
The image of ㄱ, ㄱ and ㄷ connected together in a straight line represents Gyeonggi Province’s pursuit of a new path for a better future together with its residents.
The harmonious balance of horizontal and upward strokes embodies the flexible and upright image of Gyeonggi Province.- The ㄱ on the left represents "경" of "경기도" (Gyeonggi-do). The bottom upward stroke represents Gyeonggi Province advancing into a prosperous future based on upright values.
- The ㄱ in the middle represents ‘기’ of "경기도" (Gyeonggi-do). The bottom upward stroke represents Gyeonggi Province creating new possibilities for a better future.
- The ㄷ on the right represents ‘도’ of "경기도" (Gyeonggi-do; “province” in Korean). The lower horizontal stroke represents Gyeonggi Province's harmonious balance of cultural diversity.
- The stylized ㄱ within the G denotes the logo design while suggesting a new future direction through the harmony of green and blue.
- The Italicized text conveys the image of a dynamic leader boldly advancing into the future.
- The length-to-width ratio of the flag shall be maintained at 3:2.
