Follow the Footsteps of BTS in Seohuri Forest

One of the most popular K-Pop boybands BTS took their 2019 season's greeting calendar here in Seohuri Forest, Gyeonggi-do!

Introducing Seohuri Forest

Seohuri Forest in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, has recently become a world-renowned tourist destination since BTS visited it in 2018. The forest is also the background of the 2019 BTS Season’s Greetings calendar, a popular BTS item. This is one of the reasons why visitors can see photos of BTS displayed along trails here. Seohuri Forest, however, was famous among locals even before the visit by BTS as it has often been used as a filming location for movies and commercials.

Not only do visitors enjoy the space dedicated to BTS photos, they can also indulge in moments of relaxation at a log cafe. In the cafe, visitors can savor various beverages such as lattes, americanos, lemon tea, Korea melon smoothies, jujube tea, and more.

Visitors to this forest can choose to follow Course A and/or Course B. With Course A, one can enjoy magnificent birch forests. If one prefers a light walk, it may be a good idea to take Course B. Course A takes about an hour to complete while Course B takes about 30 minutes.

There is a dazzling green lawn next to a small valley in the midst of Seohuri Forest where BTS once relaxed. Many visitors take selfies here with their feet in the water. A white chair by a small pond is like a work of art. Walking up a flowery path lined with lavender and clary sage, visitors can see another green lawn waiting for them, the biggest in Seohuri Forest. This is a photogenic spot that should not be missed.

There is also a waterfall named 'Little Falls' in Seohuri Forest. After passing this small waterfall, visitors encounter the crossroads of Course A and Course B. When one enters Course A, one can see a maple grove first, followed by traces of BTS along the trail. For example, many visitors sit at a round table and take pictures while recreating the poses of BTS in the same spot.

The hot spot of the forest, however, is a birch grove. Arguably, Seohuri Forest has the largest number of birch trees in the Korean capital region. Walking through the birch grove, visitors can see ginkgo, stratum, and metasequoia trees in close succession.

In this forest, visitors can encounter many animals and plants, not to mention fish in the valley waters. The forest, which is located adjacent to a quiet rural village along a narrow mountain path, welcomes visitors with different visages in all four seasons.
