Pyeongtaek Port is located in Asan Bay, which has the advantage of being a natural breakwater and thus is minimally affected by inclement weather. It also has the advantage of having a water depth of 14 meters, which is ideal for the safe operation of super-large vessels.
Based on these merits, Pyeongtaek Port has become a base for the exports and imports of Korea's highly competitive industries, connecting the nation with China, Japan, Vietnam and Southeast Asia as well as other regions throughout the world.
A total of 255 companies are located in the Poseung National Industrial Complex near Pyeongtaek Port, 87% of which are manufacturers and 13% are logistics operations. Most visitors who come for picnics head toward Pyeongtaek Lake Art Park, but there are also those who enjoy picnics in cars in the parking lot of Pyeongtaek Lake's tourist attractions. (Parking is, of course, free.) The Pyeongtaek Lake Tourist Information Center, located in front of the parking lot, is where visitors can receive brochures about local tourist attractions. It is useful because not all information is available online.
Visitors can enjoy water sports in the summer at the cruise site next to Pyeongtaek Lake. The waterfront promenade is about 1.5 kilometers long and takes about 30 minutes to traverse. There are many lighting displays, so the night view is enjoyable as well.
There are plenty of amenities in the area, from photo zones to cafes and restaurants. Many visitors to Pyeongtaek Lake Art Park set up tents and picnic, but cooking is prohibited in the park itself. Lunch boxes and deliveries are available, and there is a convenience store nearby.
