The Uijeongbu Music Library differentiates itself from conventional libraries, which are standardized and static, by integrating books, music and space. The first floor normally functions as a reading space, but can be transformed into a small performance hall when the opportunity arises. The space is stocked with adult and children’s books that family members can enjoy reading together. Visitors can read books and listen to music anywhere in this space without barriers. On the second floor, one can find poetry and classical literature materials as well as 2,121 musical scores for beginners and music majors.

The third floor features an audio room equipped with a state-of-the art audio system that allows group music listening, and a music hall where visitors can enjoy performances and screenings. The Uijeongbu Music Library is the first library in Korea to lend diverse types of valuable music materials, including CDs, LPs, DVDs and music scores, and has acolection that includes 6,215 CDs, 1,111 LPs and 840 DVDs. Circulation is restricted depending on social distancing requirements, but you can freely listen to music using a CD player or turntable. Also, hands-on programs are available at studios where the center offers computer-based composition programs and piano practice sessions.
