Gyeonggi Province is recommending three Gyeonggi Dulegil Forest Trail courses to help you enjoy a cool summer. Gapyeong Courses 19 and 20 as well as Yangpyeong Course 26 offer especially rich shade and are excellent for escaping the heat. And these courses are also ideal for enjoying slow walks because they are not too arduous.
The Gyeonggi Dulegil is a trail network that has been developed along the outskirts of Gyeonggi Province. By following this trail, tourists can enjoy the charms of natural, cultural, and ecological resources. The Gyeonggi Dulegil offers 60 courses that run through 15 cities and counties of the province; these are encompassed by four large trails: Pyeonghwa-Nuri Trail, Forest Trail, Water Trail, and Sea Trail. The long Forest Trail features forests and valleys along its 245-kilometer length that runs from Yeoncheon County to Yangpyeong County.

But Gyeonggi Province recently installed 11 stepping-stones and suspension bridges to make it easier for trekking. You can encounter these new amenities if you walk along the trail to Myeongpum Valley next to Yeoninsan Mountain. The trail to Yongchu Valley is easier to trek compared to the trail to Boagwigol, so some might prefer it.
Next is Gapyeong Course 20, which starts from Yongchu Valley, the end of Gapyeong Course 19, and stretches to Gapyeong Station. Gapyeong Course 19 showcases true nature, while Gapyeong Course 20 imparts a feeling of venturing to an outside world as you enter a village.

You can refuel on some tasty delights as you pass through Gapyeong Jatgoeul Market. There is plenty of food here including pine nut makgeolli, pine nut yeot (traditional confectionery), and pine nut tofu. Gapyeong County is renowned for food made with pine nuts so be sure to give it a try. And once you go past the Gapyeong Rail Bike and around Jaraseom Island, you will see Gapyeong Station where Gapyeong Course 20 comes to an end.

Lastly, there is Yangpyeong Course 26 which lead to the Danwol-myeon Office in Yangpyeong Sanum Natural Recreation Forest. Once you enter the forest, you will encounter rich shade with the scent of the forest filling the air. You can expect to see beautiful scenery everywhere.
Unlike the other courses, Yangpyeong Course 26 requires a reservation; it is a national forest and you are required to register on the Gyeonggi Dulegil website (gg.go.kr/dulegil) before visiting. There are facilities such as camping sites and cabins in the forest so it is also ideal for family vacation.
These are the courses on the Gyeonggi Dulegil Forest Trail recommended by Gyeonggi Province. How about enjoying this summer while exploring beautiful forest and valley trails?
