Hwaseong City - A Mecca of the Korean Manufacturing Industry
Over the past decades, Korean companies have been excelling globally. You can find Korean brands all over the world. This contributes greatly to increasing the name value of Korea.
Of particular note, the development of the manufacturing industry, a secondary industries, has shown remarkable growth.
Manufacturing is important for all businesses. Perhaps that is why Korea has the highest proportion of manufacturing among developed countries. As a country with a small land area, few resources and small domestic demand, the nation is highly dependent on exports.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government is propelling cooperation between institutions to secure state funds for the Industrial Complex Creation Project.
Hwaseong City was also included in the project, a pan-government initative geared to revitalize the economy and create jobs by turning manufacturing-oriented industrial complexes into regional industrial innovation bases.

Through this project, Gyeonggi Province is promoting the comprehensive development of material, component, and equipment industries centered on future mobility, next-generation semiconductors, and smart mechanical equipment.
Meanwhile, Hwaseong City held the 23rd World Representative Conference and Export Consultation Program, a briefing session on the corporate environment for Korean business people around the world, at the Syntex Grand Ballroom.
Hwaseong City is already developing one national industrial complex, one urban high-tech industrial complex, and 18 general industrial complexes, while various manufacturing industries are also increasing as the number of startups grows.
Of particular note, the "Big Three" industries – pharmaceuticals, electric equipment, and automobiles – are proving especially active.

Hwaseong City is making efforts to develop as a good city in which to live through such endeavors as “carbon zero” initiatives, smart logistics, and human health care while integrating the characteristics of an industrial city.
The Hwaseong International Theme Park is scheduled for completion in 2026, and a tram will be installed in Dongtan New Town as a specialty of the city center.
Usually, there are few people living in areas where factories are concentrated, but Hwaseong City is striving to be an industrial center where work and life coexist while also creating a better environment for its residents.
Gyeonggi Province’s Hwaseong City, a mecca for manufacturing, plans to continue to pursue measures to enable its development as a trusted city.
