Many events have been prepared, such as experiential programs in which you can make your own cup, bake bread in a kiln, and make pottery, as well as homemade flower tea tastings, busking performances, and more. About the Icheon Ceramics Festival
The 12-day Icheon Ceramics Festival, under the slogan ‘The Dignity of Icheon Ceramics,’ will showcase various programs from April 26 to May 7, 2023. Embodying the well-deserved reputation of South Korean ceramic culture with over 400 ceramic artists, this festival is the largest and oldest event of its kind in Korea. Icheon's ceramic culture has been recognized for its value both domestically and internationally, and the city was designated as a UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art in 2010. Along with the Rice Culture Festival, the Ceramics Festival is maintaining its leading reputation as a cultural and artistic festival that represents Icheon.
This year, visitors can enjoy special foods made with Icheon's specialty products such as rice and ginseng, as well as dishes prepared carefully by local resident groups. The festival includes over 20 experiential events, including pottery spinning, clay molding, and drone soccer, as well as performances by more than 40 teams selected through a nationwide competition, a high-end ceramic art exhibition, and a young artist exhibition. In addition, visitors can enjoy street miming and magic shows, large-scale ceramic demonstrations, and a photo zone with tulips along Hakamcheon Stream. We hope you can make joyful memories with your family, friends, and loved ones by visiting the Icheon Ceramics Festival in Gyeonggi Province!
