Every year on August 15, South Korea commemorates its liberation from the past Japanese colonial rule and celebrates its independence on 'Gwangbokjeol' (National Liberation Day), which also honors the establishment of the Korean government.

Korea's Gwangbokjeol holds significant importance, being one of the five national holidays. ❣️

1️⃣ Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

Walking along the walls of Suwon City’s Hwaseong Fortress (Suwon Hwaseong), you'll reach the summit of Paldalsan Mountain where you can find the March 1 Independence Movement Memorial Tower and the Korean Independence Memorial Monument. At the foot of Paldalsan, in the Hwaseong Haenggung district, the Manse Movement took place on March 29, 1919, with independence activist Kim Hyang-hwa and around 30 students leading the movement.
