As the weather gets colder, if you're looking for a great indoor destination to visit with your children, take note! At the Railroad Museum in Uiwang City, a unique indoor travel spot in Gyeonggi Province, you can see 25 real trains and learn about the history and culture of railways. 🚂"

The Railroad Museum, opened on January 26, 1988, to commemorate the legacy of the railroad, preserves and exhibits various railroad materials, including actual vehicles that played a role in transporting over 10,000 passengers and cargo.

Uiwang’s Railroad Museum, with both outdoor and indoor exhibition areas, showcases the history of a large-scale transportation system and a form of public transit. There are plenty of attractions to explore in both areas.

Outdoor Exhibition Area

The outdoor exhibition area displays actual railroad vehicles, such as steam locomotives and passenger cars, that played a crucial role in passenger and cargo transportation. This area is not only a place of nostalgia for the elderly but also a popular spot for educational and experiential learning for children.

Special historical vehicles, including the Presidential and UN Commander-in-Chief cars, are also on display. The Presidential car, which was used by Korean Presidents from Syngman Rhee to Park Chung Hee, is showcased. Various trains are also exhibited: for instance, the Narrow Gauge Steam Locomotive, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the rich history and evolving culture of railroad transportation.

Visitors can enjoy the variety of trains on display, and there is a wealth of informative content related to railroad history!
Indoor Exhibition Area

The first-floor exhibition hall in the indoor area includes the central hall, history room, vehicle room, driving experience room, railroad model diorama room, and more. The second floor displays special exhibition rooms, an electric room, a facility room, a transportation service room, a video room, and others.

The history room in the Railroad Museum showcases the traces of 120 years of railroad transportation since the beginning of Korea's railroad history.
In the train driving experience room, you'll need a 500-won coin to enjoy a three-minute experience of becoming a railroad engineer. It's another fun and educational activity for children.

With numerous immersive activities, including the train driving experience, it's a great museum to visit with the whole family 😄.

This winter, record precious memories with your kids at Uiwang’s Railroad Museum, an ideal indoor travel destination for children. 👀✨
