Gwangmyeong Cave, located in Gyeonggi Province, experienced a fascinating transformation from an abandoned mine to a renowned cave theme park. After serving as a shrimp paste warehouse for over 40 years since the mine’s closure in 1972, the cave underwent a remarkable metamorphosis when Gwangmyeong City acquired it in 2011, transforming it into a historic and cultural tourist attraction.

Today, it has been reborn as one of the Korea's premier cave theme parks. Gwangmyeong Cave features facilities such as the cave itself, as well as the Mineral Exhibition Experience Hall (Gwangmyeong Cave Treasure Exploration), VR Experience Hall, Wine Cave, and Gwangmyeong Upcycling Art Center. Offering captivating attractions in various locations, it’s an ideal choice for an enjoyable afternoon outing.

The cave exploration begins at the right tunnel of the Wormhole Square. The passageway called 'Space of Light' creates a romantic atmosphere with various light art installations and new media techniques, making it one of the best places for taking pictures.
