Great news for multicultural families in Gyeonggi Province!
Once again this year, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeongin Regional Communications Office are offering discounted rates for International Express Mail Service (EMS) to help multicultural families stay connected with their loved ones overseas. 😊
For those who want to send warm messages to their families abroad but find the high cost of international shipping burdensome, this is a fantastic opportunity!
Who is eligible for the discount?
✅ Spouses of Korean nationals with a foreign registration card marked with "Spouse of Korean National" or residence status F-6-1, F-6-2, F-6-3.
✅ Marriage immigrants or those who have acquired Korean citizenship under Article 2, Clause 2 of the Multicultural Family Support Act.
✅ Those who have acquired Korean nationality and can verify it with a resident registration card or family relationship certificate.
How much discount can you get?
A basic 10% discount on EMS fees is available. Plus, an additional 3% discount is offered when you pre-register through the Internet Post Office.
How to apply?
You can apply at any post office in Gyeonggi Province. However, bulk shipments for commercial purposes are not eligible. Simply prepare the required documents and visit the post office in person or through a representative for easy application.

Gyeonggi Province's Support for Multicultural Families Continues!
As of last year, there were approximately 358,000 multicultural family members in Gyeonggi Province, an increase of around 15,000 from year 2023.
In 2024, Gyeonggi Province supported 3,000 EMS shipments, providing an average discount of KRW 6,600 per shipment, totaling KRW 19 million in discounts.

Gyeonggi Province is committed to reducing the financial burden on multicultural families and helping them stay closely connected with their loved ones overseas.
In collaboration with the Gyeongin Regional Communications Office, Gyeonggi province is also planning to expand this discount program to support foreign residents and international students, who often face similar challenges when sending packages to their home countries.
